Brothers,
Our September activities: We had a successful but at times hectic Breakfast Burrito fundraiser the 14th. This is a great way to get involved, and you have to come to Mass on Sunday anyway, so please come early and/or stay late and help for our next one. The Car Wash on the 20th was well attended and a financial success grossing us $1550. Thank you to the many brothers that showed up and worked hard, and a special thank you to Cori Matsumiya who worked very hard herself and rounded up a lot of youth volunteers for us. Our Saturday Recycling on 9/27 started fairly strong but the cars coming through dried up quickly. We had a great turnout from the youth ministry, at times outnumbering the brother Knights. We will try this again in November, but will use an insert in the bulletin to get more visibility. Please encourage your friends and neighbors to support us by bringing their recycling down!
Some dates to remember for October:
- 10/1 General Meeting,
- 10/2 First Friday Adoration
- 10/4 March for Life at Christ Cathedral,
- 10/7 Brizio’s Fundraiser,
- 10/12 Coffee & Donuts,
- 10/15 Officer’s Planning Meeting,

Please attend as many of these events as you can, especially the Campus Cleanup, which had a sparse turnout last time.
Padre Pio
Our “Saint of the Month” for October is Francesco Forgione, officially known as Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, and known lovingly to many Catholics around the world simply as Padre Pio. He was born in Italy in 1887 and lived through both world wars. He developed the stigmata in 1918, and it persisted for the following fifty years until his death. He said he knew from the age of five that he wanted to dedicate his life to God. Although a devout and holy man loved by many during his life, he went through many trials as his stigmata was questioned as being fraudulent. He was purported to have the ability to bi-locate, including into the air to fend off allied bombers! The town of San Giovanni Rotondo where his monastery was located was never bombed during the war, and pilots that visited the town after the war recognized the “flying” monk as Padre Pio.
May almighty God Bless and protect us and our families.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us!
