CONSTANTINE & NGWAFA RELINTHIS AMUNGWA

Congratulations to the Amungwa Family. Your family has been unanimously chosen by the Officers to be recognized as the deserving Family of the Month. Let us learn more about this family and in Constantine’s own words; why he feels so close to the knights.
The knights of Columbus is a global Catholic fraternal service organization that focuses on Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Constantine has been a 3rd degree knight since March 5th, 2022. He joined the knights based on the above attributes, which are the driving force behind human feelings. Watching brother knights exhibiting such attributes in real time has driven and edged his own feelings to be a part and parcel of that organization and together we support and keep the parish life to infinity.

Eliam Relinthis Amungwa
Constantine was born a Catholic as well as his wife, Ngwafa, in the northwest region of Cameroon (Bamenda/Bambui) where one of the biggest seminary in West Africa is located. They grew up as teenagers in the same quarter without knowing each other. They met in the USA in 2011 during a convention. She was in Wisconsin and he was in Maryland. They decided to relocate to Lake Forest after that. Growing within the seminary gave Constantine a sense of direction on how Christianity has shaped the world and had him actively participate in family, community groups and church activities in a Christian fashion. This has shaped me the way he is today. In Cameroon, he participated in cleaning the church and its environment, doing community work, visiting seminarians, and getting advice on how to stay and grow faithfully. He also contributed towards Health Care; providing potable water and school supplies for the needy. When he came to the US in 2009, he was in Maryland and within the Catholic Church where he joined the Legion of Mary and did charitable works such as visiting the sick, the old , the disabled, and other vulnerable people, to pray and to offer to them what is available in form of Charity.
Outside of the church, through God’s grace and mercy, they have built up a family of four with two kids, Malachi 6 and Eliam 3. Constantine is a graduate in Accounting and IT currently works for American Airlines at John Wayne Airport with the American Airlines.
It was a joy watching Constantine and his two children wash cars so diligently at the last fundraising carwash the whole morning. Council 9487 is so blessed to have families like the Amungwas.
