Susan & Steve Seastrom

Sue grew up in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan with 3 sisters and 1 brother. After graduating from the University of Michigan (“Go Blue!”) and living in a couple of different states, she eventually moved to California to pursue her Dental Hygiene career-which she is still working full time. Her passions are biweekly tennis matches, visiting her many nieces and nephews, and rooting for her Alma Mater- Wolverines! She joined Santiago parish in 1991 where Sue and Steve met thorough mutual parishioners. They dated for 10 years and were married in 2015.

Throughout the years, Steve and Sue have been extensively involved in supporting our Parish. 30 plus years ago, Steve became a member of Bishop Johnson Council 9487 and is also a 4th Degree Knight. If there’s anything to do with finances or accounting, Steve has been there to help our Council and Santiago. He has been Council Treasurer at different times for 10 years, supporting three Financial Secretary’s: Jerry Gau, Bill Breen, and John Ojeda. He also served as Chancellor and recently helped with the Vita tax preparation program for the past three tax seasons. Steve also helps with recycling, campus cleanup, food preparation, car wash events and just about any Knight’s activity .

For the past 33 years, Sue has been a faithful Religious education teacher to our youth. She is also an active member of the Santiago Women’s Circle. In years past, Steve has served as Treasurer of our annual Parish Festival and Sue has helped out with the different booths on multiple occasions. Both Steve and Sue have been co-Treasurer of other parish activities including Dinner/Dances and have served as Camino leaders in the past years.

Spiritually, the Seastrom’s continue to serve Santiago at Saturday evening Mass with Sue as Eucharistic Minister and Lector for over 25 years and Steve as a Lector for the past 21 years.

Steve and Sue reflect: “The Knights and Parishioners of Santiago have impacted our lives so significantly that we cannot imagine our life without you. You are our closest fiends who we love dearly.”
